Honoring members whose service, friendship, and dedication helped preserve and share the history of Oakland Township.

Sue Fox

Sue Fox

July 23, 1944 — August 1, 2026

Sue Fox was a member of the Oakland Township Historical Society beginning in 2007 and a dedicated board member beginning in 2009. She was always eager to volunteer and lend a helping hand.

Sue was deeply passionate about history, especially local history. Her knowledge of genealogy and deed research helped many people, and she had a particular love for Kline Cemetery, which she fondly called “my cemetery.”

Over the years, Sue served OTHS as recording secretary, archivist, and treasurer. She learned to use PastPerfect to help organize the Society's museum collections and regularly represented OTHS at community events through the sales table.

Her dedication extended throughout the local history community. She served with the Oakland County History Coalition, the Oakland County Cemetery Coalition, and the Oakland Township Historic District Study Committee. Sue will be remembered for her kindness, bright spirit, contagious laugh, sense of humor, and lasting contributions to local history.
