OTHS at Cranberry Lake Farm

Since 2005, OTHS has used space at Cranberry Lake Farm for its museum, historical collections, archives, programs, and preservation work.

The historic farmstead remains an important center for the Society's work in Oakland Township.

Flumerfelt Barn Quilt

CMNtv Visits Cranberry Lake Farm

Local cable station CMNtv visited Cranberry Lake Farm for a feature about the barn quilt mounted on the west end of the historic Flumerfelt Barn.

The feature included interviews with members of the Oakland Township Historical Society.

Oakland Township Remembered Exhibit

Oakland Township Remembered

Photographer Edward R. Noble donated more than twenty years of his Oakland Township work. His collection was featured in the Oakland Township Remembered exhibit at the Paint Creek Cider Mill in Historic Goodison in October 2013.

Westman Farm Barn

A Barn Birthday Celebration

In September 2013, Westman Farm celebrated the 100th anniversary of two barns featuring distinctive cobblestone construction.

Both the Dairy Main Barn and Calf Barn were documented during the OTHS Barn Survey.

1879 Flumerfelt Barn

Flumerfelt Barn Receives 2011 Pride of Ownership Award

The Michigan Barn Preservation Network recognized the Oakland Township Parks and Recreation Commission, Oakland Township Historical Society, and Oakland Township Historic District Commission for preservation of the 1879 Flumerfelt Barn at Cranberry Lake Farm.

Flumerfelt Barn Wins Statewide Award

In 2006, the Michigan Historic Preservation Network presented OTHS and Oakland Township with a Community Award recognizing the Flumerfelt Barn preservation project.
